What is 2GO?

2GO Group, Inc. is the Philippines' leading multimodal logistics and transportation provider, built to move goods and people across an archipelago of over 7,600 islands where no single transport mode can reach every destination alone. The company operates as a fully integrated group combining sea freight, express courier, freight forwarding, contract logistics, cold chain management, and passenger sea travel under a single corporate structure. This combination of sea, air, and land transport capability distinguishes 2GO from most domestic competitors, which typically focus on only one or two transport modes. Its customer base spans small and medium-sized enterprises, multinationals, fast-moving consumer goods companies, pharmaceutical firms, automotive manufacturers, retailers, e-commerce platforms, and government agencies throughout the Philippines.

The lineage of 2GO extends back to 1949, when William Chiongbian formally incorporated William Lines, Inc. in Cebu City on May 26 of that year. Over the following decades, the company grew into one of the most significant domestic shipping firms in the Philippines, developing a large fleet and key passenger routes linking the country's three major island groups. A landmark consolidation arrived in December 1995, when William Lines merged with Carlos A. Gothong Lines and Aboitiz Shipping Corporation in a share-swap transaction valued at approximately 5.68 billion Philippine pesos, forming William, Gothong and Aboitiz, Inc. This three-way merger was described at the time as the largest in Philippine shipping history. In 2004, after Aboitiz Equity Ventures had bought out its partners for approximately 3.65 billion Philippine pesos, the company was renamed Aboitiz Transport System Corporation on February 4 of that year, operating well-known travel brands including SuperFerry, SuperCat, and Cebu Ferries.

The 2GO brand emerged on March 9, 2012, when the Securities and Exchange Commission of the Philippines approved the renaming of the group to 2GO Group, Inc. Simultaneously, the passenger shipping brands of Aboitiz Transport System were merged with the passenger division of Negros Navigation to form 2GO Travel. Corporate ownership shifted substantially in 2021, when SM Investments Corporation acquired a stake bringing its holding to 52.85% of the company. In 2023, SMIC completed an additional tender offer, acquiring a further 14.32% stake for approximately 5.16 billion Philippine pesos, raising its total ownership to approximately 67.21% of outstanding shares. Following a stockholder vote in April 2023 in which holders representing 97.86% of outstanding capital voted in favor, 2GO was delisted from the Philippine Stock Exchange effective July 17, 2023, transitioning to a private entity within the SM Group.

2GO's position in the Philippine logistics market rests on its dominant presence in inter-island sea freight and its multimodal transport capability. The company's roll-on/roll-off passenger fleet is the most modern in the country, giving it a structural advantage on freight routes accessible only by sea. Its parent company, SM Investments Corporation, is one of the largest conglomerates in the Philippines, providing financial strength and direct operational ties in retail distribution, where 2GO operates fulfillment centers within SM-affiliated malls and supermarkets. The express courier arm, 2GO Express, has positioned itself as a key last-mile delivery partner for the growing Philippine e-commerce sector.

Which countries does 2GO deliver to?

2GO's primary operational geography is the Philippines itself, an archipelago where inter-island logistics depend fundamentally on sea transport and where no land route connects the major island groups of Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao. The company's sea freight network serves 20 named ports of call across all three island groups, covering virtually every major commercial and population center in the country. Specific ports in the sea freight network include Bacolod, Batangas, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Caticlan, Cebu, Coron, Davao, Dipolog, Dumaguete, General Santos, Iloilo, Manila, Odiongan, Ozamiz, Puerto Princesa, Roxas, Siargao, Tagbilaran, and Zamboanga.

Within the fleet's routing structure, seven large roll-on/roll-off passenger vessels are homeported in Manila and operate routes linking Luzon to the Visayas and Mindanao. Two medium-sized vessels are homeported in Batangas and serve the Batangas-Odiongan-Caticlan and Batangas-Caticlan-Roxas corridors, extending coverage to the Romblon island group and the northern tip of Panay island. For domestic express courier delivery, the 2GO Express network provides coverage to key destinations throughout the Philippines, supported by 22 warehouses handling less-than-container load shipments. This combination of vessel routing and courier infrastructure allows the group to reach both major urban centers and secondary cities and provincial areas across the archipelago.

Internationally, 2GO Express extends its reach to over 220 destinations worldwide through a partnership with FedEx, which serves as the international carrier for cross-border parcels originating from the Philippines. Under this arrangement, 2GO handles origin-country intake and documentation, and FedEx transports the shipment across borders and manages delivery in the destination country. The forwarding division provides international ocean and air freight services for corporate clients requiring larger-volume cross-border cargo capacity, with operations expanding in Mindanao through new forwarding hubs.

  • Philippines (domestic sea freight): Twenty ports of call across Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao: Bacolod, Batangas, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Caticlan, Cebu, Coron, Davao, Dipolog, Dumaguete, General Santos, Iloilo, Manila, Odiongan, Ozamiz, Puerto Princesa, Roxas, Siargao, Tagbilaran, and Zamboanga
  • Philippines (domestic courier): Nationwide coverage through 2GO Express, supported by 22 warehouses for less-than-container load consolidation across the country
  • International (express parcels): Over 220 destinations worldwide via the FedEx international partnership
  • International (freight forwarding): Selected destinations via ocean and air freight forwarding managed by 2GO Forwarding for corporate clients

What are the 2GO services and delivery times?

2GO Group operates across five major business divisions, each addressing a distinct segment of the Philippine logistics market. 2GO Sea Solutions is the flagship maritime freight division and the recognized leader in commercial inter-island shipping in the country. It provides both port-to-port and door-to-door freight services using standard and specialized container vans loaded aboard roll-on/roll-off passenger vessels. The division handles full-container load cargo, less-than-container load shipments consolidated through its Small Cargo service network via 22 warehouses across the country, and rolling freight consisting of wheeled vehicles and oversized equipment driven directly onto the vessel. A premium Cabin Cargo tier provides priority handling for time-sensitive goods traveling aboard passenger ships.

2GO Express is the courier and parcel delivery arm, serving both business-to-business and business-to-consumer domestic shipments. It offers standardized product formats designed to simplify the rate and packaging process for senders at the lower end of the weight range. QuikPac pouches come in three size tiers for documents and small parcels, accepting up to 500 grams, 2 kilograms, or 3 kilograms. QuikBox cartons come in four tiers for merchandise and personal effects, accepting up to 3, 5, 10, or 20 kilograms. BudgetBox is an economy sea freight option for heavy consignments up to 50 kilograms per box. The QuikSave program allows high-volume shippers to purchase prepaid delivery stubs in pads of 50 forms, reducing the effective per-unit cost for businesses with regular courier requirements.

2GO Special Containers and Projects, also referred to as SCVASI, handles cold chain and liquid bulk transport. This includes temperature-controlled reefer vans for multi-temperature shipments such as pharmaceutical and perishable food products, and ISO tanks for full-container and less-than-container liquid bulk cargo. The division also provides full project logistics support for infrastructure, power, telecommunications, mining, and property development clients whose cargo requires specialized equipment and handling protocols beyond standard dry freight. 2GO Forwarding provides international and domestic ocean and air freight forwarding with customs brokerage for corporate clients, while 2GO Logistics, the contract logistics arm, manages warehousing, inventory, value-added services such as repacking and bundling, and distribution to major retail chains nationwide.

  • 2GO Sea Solutions: Port-to-port and door-to-door inter-island freight, including full-container load, less-than-container load via Small Cargo, rolling freight for vehicles and oversized cargo, and priority Cabin Cargo
  • 2GO Express QuikPac: Pre-packaged pouches in three weight tiers: Small up to 500 grams, Medium up to 2 kilograms, Large up to 3 kilograms
  • 2GO Express QuikBox: Pre-packaged cartons in four weight tiers: Extra Small up to 3 kg, Small up to 5 kg, Medium up to 10 kg, Large up to 20 kg
  • 2GO Express BudgetBox: Economy domestic sea freight box accepting up to 50 kilograms, suited to heavy or bulky shipments on non-time-critical routes
  • 2GO Express Same-Day Delivery: Hyperlocal delivery within approximately 8 kilometers from participating fulfillment or store locations
  • 2GO Express QuikSave: Prepaid delivery stub system sold in pads of 50 forms for high-volume document and parcel shippers seeking per-unit savings
  • 2GO Special Containers (SCVASI): Cold chain reefer transport, ISO tank liquid bulk, and project logistics for industrial, infrastructure, and pharmaceutical clients
  • 2GO Forwarding: International and domestic ocean and air freight forwarding with end-to-end customs brokerage for corporate clients
  • 2GO Logistics: Contract warehousing, inventory management, repacking, bundling, and retail distribution to malls, supermarkets, and commercial chains nationwide

For domestic express courier shipments through 2GO Express, standard delivery typically takes 3 to 7 business days depending on the origin, destination, and remoteness of the delivery area. Same-day delivery is available within approximately 8 kilometers from participating locations. Sea freight transit times through 2GO Sea Solutions vary by route and are governed by scheduled sailing frequencies and port call sequences, making them slower than the express courier channel but predictable for businesses that plan shipments around vessel schedules. For international shipments processed through the FedEx partnership, delivery times depend on the destination country, service level selected, and customs clearance at the receiving end, with standard international delivery generally taking 3 to 7 business days for most destinations.

What are the 2GO rates and maximum dimensions accepted?

2GO Express calculates domestic shipping rates based on the destination zone, the service type selected, and the weight bracket of the product tier chosen. The QuikPac and QuikBox formats provide a standardized pricing structure where a shipper selects a pre-sized pouch or carton appropriate to the shipment weight, removing the need for dimensional weight calculations on smaller consignments. This tiered product system is aimed at individual senders and small-business shippers who send at irregular volumes without the scale to negotiate custom rate agreements.

For high-volume shippers, the QuikSave prepaid program allows businesses to purchase delivery stubs in pads of 50 forms, reducing the effective per-shipment cost compared to standard pay-per-shipment pricing. This program applies to door-to-door document deliveries nationwide and is aimed at e-commerce merchants, professional offices, and businesses with frequent outbound courier activity. The BudgetBox product provides the most economical rate for heavy domestic consignments by routing cargo up to 50 kilograms through the sea freight network rather than the more expensive air courier channel.

  • QuikPac weight limits: Small accepts up to 500 grams; Medium up to 2 kilograms; Large up to 3 kilograms
  • QuikBox weight limits: Extra Small up to 3 kilograms; Small up to 5 kilograms; Medium up to 10 kilograms; Large up to 20 kilograms
  • BudgetBox weight limit: Up to 50 kilograms per box, traveling via domestic sea freight
  • International shipments (FedEx partnership): Maximum weight of 2 kilograms per package
  • International large package surcharge: Applies when the combined length and girth of a package exceed 330 centimeters
  • Rate basis: Calculated by destination zone, service type, and applicable product weight tier; 2GO does not publish fixed public rate tables and directs shippers to customer service or outlet counters for current quotations

For sea freight through 2GO Sea Solutions, full-container load and less-than-container load cargo rates follow standard freight pricing conventions. LCL cargo is consolidated through the Small Cargo network, accessible via 22 warehouses across the country, allowing shippers without full-container volumes to share container space. Rolling freight rates for wheeled vehicles and oversized equipment are handled separately given the specialized nature of roll-on/roll-off loading. As with express products, 2GO does not maintain a fixed public freight rate schedule; shippers request quotations through customer service or at the nearest 2GO branch.

What are the 2GO delivery options?

2GO Express provides door-to-door delivery as its standard domestic service, with courier agents delivering parcels directly to the recipient's address. For recipients who prefer not to wait at home or are unable to receive a delivery in person, the Click and Collect option allows parcels to be held at a designated 2GO outlet or branch where the recipient or an authorized representative can collect them at a convenient time. Cash on Delivery is available across the domestic courier network, reflecting the strong preference for cash transactions in the Philippine e-commerce market. Under this arrangement, the courier collects payment from the recipient at the point of delivery on behalf of the sending merchant or individual.

For sea freight cargo through 2GO Sea Solutions, both port-to-port and door-to-door options are available, as well as combinations of the two. A shipper may choose to arrange their own last-mile transport from the destination port, or use 2GO's distribution network to handle delivery through to the final address. This flexibility allows businesses with established local distribution operations to use 2GO for the inter-island segment while managing the final delivery leg independently, which is a common arrangement for FMCG and retail distributors operating in multiple regions.

  • Door-to-door (express): Standard 2GO Express service with courier delivery directly to the recipient's address
  • Click and Collect: Parcel held at a designated 2GO outlet for collection by the recipient or an authorized representative
  • Cash on Delivery (COD): Payment collected from the recipient at the point of delivery, available for domestic courier shipments
  • Port-to-port (sea freight): Cargo transported between named ports by vessel, with the shipper responsible for last-mile delivery from the destination port
  • Door-to-door (sea freight): End-to-end service combining inter-island vessel transport and last-mile delivery using 2GO's distribution network
  • Same-Day Delivery: Hyperlocal home delivery from partnered retail or fulfillment locations within approximately 8 kilometers of the dispatch point
  • Returns Management: Scheduled pickup of returned goods from recipient locations and routing back to the sender's warehouse, available for e-commerce and retail businesses

For e-commerce and retail businesses, 2GO Express offers fulfillment center services covering item pick-up, consolidation, packing, and dispatch to delivery networks. The 2GO Connect product specifically handles replenishment for mall-based retail distribution, routing goods from supplier or warehouse locations to SM-affiliated retail destinations and similar commercial accounts. Bulk shipment management is also available for high-volume business clients, providing end-to-end logistics management covering both pickup and final delivery under a single account arrangement.

What should I do if my 2GO parcel is lost or damaged?

2GO Express operates a Customer Interaction Center with separate regional contact numbers for Manila, Cebu, and Davao. Customer service is available Monday through Saturday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. For shipments managed through the older supply chain portal, a separate set of contact numbers applies, with operating hours running Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Contacting the regional office that handled the original shipment generally helps direct the inquiry to the team most familiar with that consignment.

The process for claiming a lost or damaged parcel follows a structured sequence. A claimant first contacts 2GO customer service and provides the shipment tracking number, the sender and recipient name, and a contact number for follow-up. A formal written complaint is then filed, typically addressed to the relevant 2GO branch or main office. The claimant submits supporting documentation, which generally includes a copy of the waybill or shipment receipt. Following this initial submission, 2GO issues a formal claim form for the claimant to complete and return, at which point the official investigation into the loss or damage is initiated.

  • Manila customer service: (632) 8528-7000, Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Cebu customer service: (6332) 888-3288, Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Davao customer service: (6382) 234-3299 and (6382) 234-3300, Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Step 1: Contact 2GO customer service and provide the tracking number, sender and recipient name, and a contact number
  • Step 2: File a formal written complaint addressed to the relevant 2GO branch or main office
  • Step 3: Submit supporting documentation including a copy of the waybill or shipment receipt
  • Step 4: Complete the formal claim form issued by 2GO to initiate the official investigation into the loss or damage

Does 2GO handle international shipments and customs formalities?

2GO Express provides international parcel delivery to over 220 destinations worldwide through a partnership with FedEx. Under this arrangement, 2GO handles origin-country intake and preparation of international parcels in the Philippines, and FedEx transports the shipment across borders and carries out final delivery in the destination country. The international express service is oriented toward small parcels, with a maximum weight of 2 kilograms per package. Packages whose combined length and girth exceed 330 centimeters are subject to a large package surcharge, consistent with standard air express handling constraints.

On the corporate freight side, 2GO Forwarding provides full-service international ocean and air freight forwarding for businesses requiring larger-volume cross-border cargo capacity. This division manages end-to-end customs brokerage for both import and export consignments, covering the preparation and filing of customs declarations, tariff classification, and clearance procedures. The forwarding team handles the full range of commercial cargo documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and other trade documents as required by Philippine Customs and the receiving country's authorities. The division specifically serves pharmaceutical, automotive, fast-moving consumer goods, and industrial clients, all of which regularly deal with regulated or specialized import and export requirements.

Specific published lists of prohibited and restricted items for international shipments through 2GO were not available in publicly accessible documentation at the time of this writing. Standard restrictions applicable to international air express shipments generally apply. Dangerous goods, explosives, narcotics, counterfeit merchandise, materials from protected species, and items restricted under Philippine Customs regulations or the laws of the destination country are not accepted. Shippers with questions about specific commodity types should contact 2GO customer service directly for guidance before booking an international shipment.

  • International courier reach: Over 220 countries and territories worldwide via the FedEx international partnership, originating from the Philippines
  • Maximum package weight (international express): 2 kilograms per package
  • Large package surcharge: Applies when combined length and girth exceed 330 centimeters
  • International freight forwarding: Ocean and air freight for larger corporate consignments, managed by 2GO Forwarding
  • Customs brokerage: End-to-end customs clearance for import and export cargo, including documentation preparation and tariff classification
  • Industries served by forwarding: Pharmaceuticals, automotive, fast-moving consumer goods, and industrial sectors

Understanding tracking statuses

When you track a 2GO parcel online, different statuses appear as the shipment moves through the network from initial booking to final delivery or collection. 2GO tracking numbers follow an alphanumeric format, with common patterns beginning with the letters "2G" followed by a numeric sequence. For waybill-based shipments, the tracking reference is a 9-character document number printed at the upper right corner of the physical waybill or consignment note form. Third-party tracking platforms including also support 2GO tracking number queries. Here are the main statuses and their meanings.

Status Description
Pending The shipment has been registered or booked in the system but has not yet been physically received and processed by 2GO. This status confirms the booking exists but the parcel has not yet entered the physical delivery network.
In Transit The parcel is actively moving through the 2GO courier or freight network toward its destination. This status may appear more than once as the shipment passes through successive handling points along its route.
Out for Delivery The package has been dispatched from the local sorting or distribution center and is in the hands of a delivery agent currently traveling to the recipient's address. Delivery is expected on the same day this status is recorded.
Delivered / Arrived The package has been successfully handed over to the recipient at the destination address, or has arrived at the designated pickup point in the case of Click and Collect shipments. The shipment is considered complete at this stage.
Held for Pickup The package is being held at a 2GO branch or outlet awaiting collection by the recipient or an authorized representative. This status appears when the Click and Collect option was selected, or when a delivery attempt could not be completed at the recipient's address.
Attempted Delivery A delivery attempt was made but was unsuccessful, typically because the recipient was not available at the address at the time of the courier's visit. The recipient or sender should contact 2GO to arrange a follow-up delivery attempt or an alternative collection arrangement.
Returned / Return to Sender The package is being returned to the sender following failed delivery attempts, an address problem, or recipient refusal. The shipment is routed back through the 2GO network to the original dispatch location.
Cancelled The shipment has been cancelled and will not proceed to delivery. No further movement will occur in the network unless a new booking is created for the same consignment.
Exception / Delayed A temporary issue is affecting the normal progress of the shipment through the delivery network. This status signals that the parcel is outside the standard routing flow and may require additional processing time or direct intervention before normal delivery can resume.

Where can I find my 2GO tracking number?

The 2GO tracking number is automatically sent when your package is shipped. As the recipient, you receive it by email, SMS, or directly on the order confirmation page of the retailer's website.

If you cannot find it in your notifications, log in to your customer account on the website where you placed your order. The tracking number can be found in your order history or in the section dedicated to ongoing deliveries.

Once you have this number, enter it in the search field to check your delivery progress and estimated arrival date.

Why isn't my 2GO package moving in the package tracking history?

When your 2GO package tracking hasn't updated for several days, several factors may explain this delay: customs formalities for international shipments, logistical incidents, or simply a delay in updating the information.

Before taking any action, verify that the delivery address provided during the order is correct. An error or incomplete information can slow down the shipping process. If the delay persists beyond the announced timeframe, contact 2GO customer service or the sender with your tracking number on hand. They will be able to precisely locate your package and, if necessary, open an investigation to determine the cause of the delay.

When I track my 2GO package, why does it show as "returned"?

A "returned" status means that the package has been sent back to the sender. Several situations can explain this return:

Incorrect or incomplete address

The delivery driver was unable to identify the recipient due to an incorrect, illegible, or incomplete address missing essential information (apartment number, access code, etc.).

Unsuccessful delivery attempts

After several unsuccessful attempts and in the absence of collection within the allotted time, the package is automatically returned to its origin point.

Unclaimed package

The recipient did not collect the package from the post office or pickup point within the holding period, usually 15 days.

Customs issues

For international shipments, missing or incomplete documents or an incorrect value declaration can result in customs clearance refusal and the return of the package.

If your package shows this status, contact the sender or 2GO customer service to find out the exact reason for the return and agree on a solution: a new shipment or refund according to the seller's terms.

Why does the 2GO parcel tracking timeline indicate that my order cannot be found?

If no information appears when tracking your 2GO package, several causes are possible:

Incorrect tracking number

Make sure that the number entered matches exactly the one provided by the sender. A single character error prevents the package from being identified.

Tracking activation delay

Tracking information is only available once the package has been picked up by 2GO. A delay of 24 to 48 hours may occur between the notification being sent and the first status update.

Technical issue

Temporary malfunctions can sometimes affect the online tracking system. In this case, try again later or contact 2GO customer service for assistance.
